TOURING:BEIJING, XI’AN, DUNHUANG, TURPAN, URUMQI, and KASHGAR
TOUR ITINERARY

Day 01 Beijing
Arrive in Beijing. You will be met by local tour guide and transfer to your hotel. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 02 Beijing
Visit Summer Palace, Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City. The famous Beijing Roasted Duck served in the evening. (B+L+D)

Day 03 Beijing
One day excursion of the Jinshanling Great Wall. JinShanLing has 67 watchtowers along 11 kilometers of the Great Wall, with each watchtower an example of different architecture. It is 5 to 8 meters high and 6 meters across at the base and 5 meters at the top. The walkway along the top was paved with square bricks and provided a level surface wide enough to construct or erect batteries. Watchtower WangJingLou is 980 meters above sea level. It is said that one can catch sight of Beijing's light at dawn in Autumn. JinShanLing is the most spectacular sight of the entire Great Wall . (B+L+D)

Day 04 Beijing/ Xi’an
Morning flight CA1209 (09:50/ 11:40) for Xi’an. You will be met by local tour guide and transfer to your hotel. City tour of Big Wild Goose Pagoda and ancient Xi’an City Wall. (B+L)

Day 05 Xi’an
Tour Xi’an City Wall, built in the early Ming Dynasty (about 600 years ago) and Qin’s Terra-cotta Warriors, the Archaeological Museum of 6,000 life-size Terracotta Warriors and their horses. The warriors were the after life protectors of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC).
In the evening we attend a re-enactment of the royal arts performance of a 7th century Tang Dynasty Show, with dinner included. (B+L+D)

Day 06 Xi’an/ Dunhuang
Morning flight MU2205 (08:00/ 10:10) for Dunhuang. In the afternoon, visit the Thousand Buddha Cave also known as Mogao Grottoes were dug into cliffs at the eastern foot of the Sounding Sand Mountain 25 Kms Southeast of downtown Dunhuang. The digging work began in 366, the caves stretch 1,610 meters from north to south. There are 491 caves housing 45,000 square meters of murals if arranged side by side and 2400 painted statues of past dynasties. There are five wooden structures in the Tang Dynasty ( 618-907 ). the art of construction, painted sculptures and murals reflects the cultural exchanges between the Orient and the West some 1,600 years ago. The caves are the largest well - preserved treasures house of arts in the world. In 1991, the UNESCO listed Mogao Caves as one of the world Cultural Heritages. (B+L+D)

Day 07 Dunhuang
Visit the Crescent Moon Lake, where the oasis meets the desert. The spring-fed lake is set amidst towering sand dunes from where you can take in a spectacular view of the green oasis surrounded by an endless desert landscape. The a stop to the Sand dunes, - 'Singing Sand' - where you can make a (steep) climb up the massive sand dunes for a great view of Crescent Moon Lake. Overnight train N949 (19:30/ 05:40) for Turpan. Day 08 Turpan
Be met and transferred to your hotel. A full day visiting the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, a picturesque site overlooking cliffs and a lush river valley in the heart of the Flaming Mountains. A stop will be made at the Astana Tombs. Return to Turpan and visit the District Museum which houses a collection of artifacts from the area. In the evening a Uygur dance performance will be arranged. (B+L+D)

Day 09 Turpan to Urumqi
In the afternoon visit the ruined city of Jiaohe, just 10 kms west of Turpan, and the Emin Minaret, one of the architectural gems of the Silk Road. Bus from Turpan to Urumqi (approximately 3 hours’ journey). During the journey you will pass through spectacular desert where small oasis towns are irrigated by an impressive series of underground channels carrying water from the distant Tianshan Mountains. Day 10 Urumqi
Upon arrival, we visit the Xinjiang Minority Peoples' Museum. It offers an impressive collection of exhibits, covering artifacts and relics from more than 12 minority groups. The lay out and presentation of the exhibits is imaginative, along with the 3000 year old mummies. Then we visit the lively market at Erdaoqiao, where anything from Uygur handicrafts, silk carpets to fruits and kebabs are sold. We will also visit the Old Town area, where we will see how Uygurs live in today's modern capital city. Tonight, we enjoy a special regional dinner with a number of local delicacies to sample. Day 11 Urumqi to kashgar
Early morning our chartered bus takes us up in the mountains to Heaven Lake and a relaxing break in our journey. Lodging in with the Kazaks in their yurts (tents) around the magnificently situated lake offers unique vistas and a beautiful outdoor experience. We can sit back, take in the fresh air and (only for the brave) taste the grim mare milk. Here we will ride horses to explore the origin of the Tianchi lake. After dinner we board one short flight CZ9901 (19:40/ 21:30) with 1.5 hours to kashgar, also known as Kashi, the 'crown jewel' of the Silk Road. Situated at an altitude of 4,228 feet at the end of the spectacular Karakoram Highway, the city is still an important trading center. It first fell into Chinese hands nearly 1,000 years ago when extensions to the Great Wall and explorations along the Silk Road opened the area to trade. Kashgar, of course, is famous for its incredible market, which people travel from all over the world to see. (B+L+D)

Day 12 Kashgar
Begin your discovery today with visits to the Id Kah Mosque fronted by the busy square., the largest in China that built in 1442, the Abakh Hoja Tomb, built in 1640, it is reminiscent of the Central Asian artistic style of Samarkand of Isfahan. The site is also known as the Xiang Fei (Fragrant Concubine) Tomb in memory of Abakh Khoja's granddaughter, Iparhan, who was the Fragrant Concubine of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty. Roam through the colorful national street that assembled rich and verity workshop of making uyghur's handcrafts.. then enjoy the wonderful uyghur dance show preformed by lovely uyghur's children. Day 13 Kashgar to Urumqi to Beijing
In the morning we board one flight CZ9904 (10:30/ 12:00) back to Urumqi and then change flight CA1902 (16:50/ 18:25) for Beijing. (B+L+D)

Day 14 Beijing
Take international flight back your home. Tour ends. (B)
